besonegro

Booking for:

BesoNegro

BesoNegro plays "Swing Gitane" with driving swagger and heartfelt lyricism. Focusing on a small body of tradtional repetoire and a larger list of original Gypsy Jazz, they are more than a jazz cover band. The infectious gypsy dance beat, smoking solos and soulful vocals will make you love BesoNegro.
BesoNegro has an all-star lineup of internationally experienced musicians who have brought drive and passion to Gypsy Jazz. Taking the hint dropped by the great folk punk bands The Pogues, Gogol Bordello and Flogging Molly, BesoNegro has transformed a genre into a vibrant new beast. Darker, faster, more danceable, more blues, more Gypsy, BesoNegro's indelible fingerprint brings Jazz Manouche to a new generation and to the 21st century.
Javier Jimenez of Madrid adroitly conjures the ghost of Django with his phenomenal guitar playing. Adam Roach's vocals are singular, soulful and penetrating. Steve Gardner's fiddle playing is fluid and dark. Cheyenne's Bass drives the beat hard. One night with BesoNegro and you will understand what is means to get the "Black Kiss".
By the way, they swing so you should swing dance. Though Besonegro had been in the works for over a year, it's just in the last few months that they can be said to be a band. Not much history yet, but there will be.

Dirt Floor Band

Who is the Dirt Floor Band?
Five northern California dudes playing original barefoot-punk-grass; our own special blend of mutt music. Bringing together the sounds of bluegrass, gypsy, and punk rock- with some country ballads and a little funk to round it out- the Dirt Floor Band form a dynamic part of a West Coast musical style that can't easily be contained by any particular genre. Bluegrass. Electric funk Jamming. Self-depricating folk-country. Tight minor key gypsy instrumentals and loose punk rock. From the transcendental to the downright irreverent they do it all with guitars, banjos, mandolins, harmonicas, bass, drums, and three singer-songwriters.
Live performances showcase the band's varied offerings with a raw, ragged-edged intensity that invites the audience to join in and dance till their feet blister.
Join them for a slightly insane night of music, dancing, and a damn good time.
